Museum of Oceanography

Established in 1923, the National Maritime Museum of Nha Trang is an early marine research center established in Vietnam, where more than 60,000 marine life specimens are preserved. Not only the various knowledge and subject stamps related to oceanography are displayed, but also the specimens of various large-scale marine creatures can be seen, and there is also an aquarium in the basement. The museum is located in the Institute of Oceanography in a French colonial building. Not far from the ticket office, there are marine creatures such as lionfish, sharks, seahorses, clownfish, sea turtles, and sea anemones, which tourists can enjoy up close. In the marine equipment exhibition hall, the exhibits are the instruments, equipment and various fishing tools used by marine scientists during their investigations. In the practical marine exhibition hall, economically valuable fish, sea animals, sea bird meat, animal oils, skins and their chemical preparations captured from various oceans are displayed. Although the aquarium in the basement of the Oceanographic Museum is not large, it also maintains a variety of rare marine animals and plants, which makes people sigh at the wonder of the ocean world.
