Ningbo Bang Museum

The Ningbo Gang Museum is located in Zhenhai District, Ningbo City, at the southern end of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge and the terminus of the Zhoushan Liandao Bridge. It covers an area of ​​70 mu and has a construction area of ​​24,000 square meters. It is a key cultural construction project of Ningbo City during the 11th Five-Year Plan period. It was completed and opened on October 22, 2009. As a city humanities museum, the Ningbo Gang Museum uses the era as the context, historical facts as the clue, and characters as the highlight to systematically display the epic of the Ningbo Gang's hard work and success from the late Ming Dynasty to the present, so as to promote the Ningbo Gang's wealth and wisdom culture and hometown feelings, and to advocate the humanistic theme of seeking roots and paying homage to ancestors and respecting the dead by creating an "emotional landmark and spiritual home". The architecture of the Ningbo Gang Museum fully highlights the cultural character of the Ningbo Gang that adheres to tradition and is pioneering and innovative. The museum's architectural design was presided over by He Jingtang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the designer of the China Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. The exhibition in the museum is rich in content, novel in means, and full of humanistic atmosphere. The museum exhibition design was nominated for the Best Exhibition Space Design Award at the 2010 Asia Pacific Interior Design Biennial Awards, and won the Best Content Design Award at the 2010 Zhejiang Province Exhibition Selection.
