A year after the last trip to the same place - albeit during the completely wrong season- headed back to Luoping to make up for lost time.. and it didn’t disappoint. The whole town is a sea of yellow canola flowers on all sides. The town is a little bare of great hotels or restaurants it seems but based o Lon how much the area has changed in the last year or so, I wouldn’t be surprised if that changes soon. #tripblazers

The rapeseed flowers of Luoping are located in Qujing City, Yunnan Province. Luoping boasts a million acres of rapeseed fields, which have been recognized by Guinness as the "world's largest natural garden". The season when the rapeseed flowers bloom competitively is from February to March each year, and it has now become a famous internet celebrity check-in spot known throughout the country. After checking into the hotel and taking a short rest, we headed to the Jinji Peaks in the afternoon. According to the introduction of the Jinji Peaks scenic area, the Jinji Peaks cluster is located in Huiji Village, Baqiao Town, Luoping County, about 12 kilometers from Luoping County. The Jinji Peaks cluster presents a karst spectacle and is the core scenic area of Luoping's peak forest and rapeseed sea. Here, the peaks rise in clusters, stretching endlessly, with overlapping ridges and a vast expanse. The scenic area has fertile fields, and every year from February to March, tens of thousands of acres of rapeseed flowers bloom in competition. The golden colors spread for dozens of miles, like golden waves of the sea, with green peaks and golden waves complementing each other, creating an incomparably beautiful scene, which has been selected by 'China National Geography' as one of the 'five most beautiful peak forests in China'. Entering the scenic area, although the weather was overcast, walking along the country paths felt like a scroll of ink painting slowly unfolding, reminiscent of the misty rain in the south of the Yangtze River, the spring breeze bringing rain, white walls and pink tiles, mountains winding around, paths turning around peaks, and flowers blooming fragrantly. The yellow rapeseed flowers spread across the fields of hope, intoxicating visitors, making them linger and forget to return, too happy to think of home. The only downside was the fog that rose in the scenic area this afternoon, which affected the visibility, and the temperature was low and there were many people, so the shooting effect was not ideal. The original plan to visit the 'Screw Field' scenic spot was canceled due to the weather, and we just passed by and took a look. The guide sent two photos, which also counted as a visit. Luoping's rapeseed flowers, I really love the scenery here so much, because tens of thousands of acres of rapeseed flowers are competing to bloom in the Luoping basin. As far as the eye can see, it's a sea of golden yellow. The view is truly indescribable with just the word 'spectacular', it's beauty to the extreme! After driving through Luoping, I had heard about the fame of the rapeseed flowers here, but I was still shocked when I saw them in reality. Almost the entire county is surrounded by rapeseed flowers. Just walk into any village, and you'll find undulating seas of rapeseed flowers. Personally, I feel there's no need to spend money on a ticket to see the rapeseed flowers. 👉 Of course, that Rapeseed Flower World (the one that charges money) has a little train, which children should like, so families with kids might want to check it out! 👉 If you don't want to spend money, trust me, just wander into any village, and you'll find vast expanses of flowers. Moreover, the further you go into the suburbs, the more beautiful the flower seas become. The most beautiful and spectacular sea of flowers I saw that day was on the national highway on our self-drive trip to Kunming (just as we were leaving Luoping), in a very natural and simple little mountain village, with large swathes of rapeseed flowers layered upon each other, almost without tourists. Stop the car by the roadside and enjoy its natural bloom! (Pictures 2, 3, 4) 🏠 Accommodation: The prices for homestays here range from 110-200, not including breakfast. Many of them offer views of the rapeseed flowers right from the window or balcony, or are just a short distance from the sea of flowers. We chose the sightseeing bus, which was convenient for getting off at any time. Retirees have a half-price discount, and those who are 65 years old can visit for free. I must say, the rapeseed flowers here are different. As far as the eye can see, millions of acres of rapeseed flowers are blooming competitively, quite spectacular. When the wind blew, the rapeseed fields made a 'whooshing' sound, and the waves of flowers undulated, exuding a vigorous and upward vitality, which was extremely wonderful. The queue to see the panoramic view from the Jinji Peak viewing platform was very long, so we gave up the chance to take the most beautiful photos. The downside is that it's average for taking pictures of people, and you can't walk to the edge of the rapeseed field. The mountain road is winding, please drive carefully; also pay attention to safety when taking photos by the roadside. There are parking spots on the roadside, 10 yuan per vehicle, it can get very chaotic when there are many cars. Admission: Free 2️⃣ Jiulong Waterfall Scenic Area If you only want to see the rapeseed fields, take the west gate on the mountain; if you want to play, take the east gate at the bottom of the mountain, close to the waterfall. The panoramic viewing platform can capture both Jiulong Waterfall and the rapeseed fields, but the best viewing period has passed. The drone is still the best perspective, but it requires good lighting, and overcast days are actually better. Highly recommend taking the flying carpet up the mountain, it's a fun experience. The highest peak is Laojian Mountain, about 3 kilometers one way, you can take the sightseeing train or car to get there. Admission: 30 yuan Sightseeing train: 50 yuan/Sightseeing car: 30 yuan 4️⃣ Main Venue of the Rapeseed Flowers Free and you can drive in, there might be traffic control on weekends.
