Qitaihe Library is a municipal public library in the city. It was built in 1974 and was originally located in Beishan, the old district. The area is less than 600 square meters. In 1980, the municipal government moved to the new district and the Municipal Committee Veteran Cadre Bureau and the Municipal Science Association Office. The area is 420 square meters. The current building was built in 1997. In 2002, the area of 2000 square meters. In 2016, the city cultural center broke ground and was expected to be put into use by the end of 2020. At that time, the city library will be relocated to the city cultural center, and the area will reach 8700 square meters (including underground library).
