    Taigulou

    Original Text

Completed in 1875, it is the oldest existing pseudo-Western-style building among domestic school buildings and is designated as an important cultural property. It is also called the drum tower or the gearman tower. The parking lot was a little confusing and I went around the building. The road on the left side of the building site is now available to the parking lot. It seems that it is also a parking lot in the adjacent park.

Existing する Oldest の Yangfeng School

    Original Text

It is a pseudo-Western-style school in Saku City. It is the oldest pseudo-Western-style school in Japan and older than Matsumoto's Kaichi School. When it comes to school, I usually imagine a horizontal school building, but this school building is vertically long. Stained glass was fitted at the entrance and exit of the first floor and the end of the corridor on the second floor, and I think it was a fairly modern building at that time. The interior is not so large, consisting of an auditorium, four classrooms, a principal's room and a staff room. Each room was then envoy ...

Retro Museum of the Meiji period

    Original Text

I found it while searching for a stained glass building. It's a school stained glass, so I think it's like this, but it matches the retro atmosphere of the Western-style building. There is a charge, but let's take a look. I went in autumn, but there were cherry blossoms and wisteria shelves, so I think I can enjoy flowers in the season.

If you look closely, you will be impressed.

A school that is said to have been built by local residents in the Meiji era by soliciting donations. I am surprised that there were people with high ambition in such a rural area. There are many exhibits of paper materials inside, and the impression is sober, but if you look closely at the materials, you will find many interesting discoveries. It is recommended to visit over time. There is a museum next door, but it's a pity that there is no exhibition that was systematic because I didn't get the impression that I collected old ones in the neighborhood.

    Worth a look.

Revisit Saku City for a reason. An old school building with stained glass. It is well maintained and the staff are kind. Old Yamaha organ can also be played. It's interesting to see letters that comfort students and textbooks at that time. Steam locomotives and gasoline trains that ran on the Koumi Line on the premises. It is a static preservation that railway lovers cannot bear.
