The Yacrotili Lighthouse at the most southwest end of Santorini is the best sunset shooting location in Santorini
Because the crowds are much less than Oia, Ferra, and there is no obstruction in front, to see the sunset directly under the Aegean Sea, really full of moving.
But the transportation to the Yacrotili Lighthouse is not that convenient, there is not much to get there by bus unless you rent a car, which is the only small drawback
The lighthouse has been guarded on Santorini for nearly a century, and from a distance it looks like a church. The green dome shines brightly at night. The safe navigation of the ships at sea is definitely an iconic building on Santorini and well worth a visit.
The lighthouse of Santorini is a 200-year-old building on the west coast of Santorini. The lighthouse stands on the high ground of the cape, giving navigation to the ships going to and from this sea area. Standing on the lighthouse and looking at the Atlantic Ocean, I really feel the greatness of nature and a lot of open heart.
Located at santorini''s southernmost lighthouse, is an excellent place enjoy the sunset and ocean. The lighthouse was barbed wire, could not enter, but enough to shoot it to appreciate it from different angles, and walking, near the sea. Near the lighthouse has many coastal cliffs and forms the peak, if afraid of sun, worth to make stops here, try to climb, to watch the sea, to admire the stone. For those who want to take a little risk, can be stepped down from the cliff path under the lighthouse, go a little bit far, through some rugged rocky road, until he came to the edge of the cliff. The beautiful scenery is absolutely beyond imagination!
Unique lighthouse at the tip of the caldera. We we're told by our host that this was the best place to view the santorini sunset because it is not as crowded as fira and oia but just as magestic. It was super windy the day we went but still beautiful. Lots of tourists visit here for the sunset, other than that there isn't much to see at the lighthouse
