Xiaodonghai is one of several beaches in the Sanya area. What I love about Xiaodonghai is how peaceful it gets. The view is amazing, there are so many trees providing enough shade, and it’s never crowded like other beaches. Lots of privacy and a great place to have a small get together with friends, play volleyball, or have a picnic. People also like to go fishing there. I kid you not, sometimes it’s so peaceful, I just take a nap while playing chill music on my speakers. it’s all waves and wind. Its also a great area for snorkeling. Xiaodonghai Beach There are so many beaches and hotels at Sanya, it can become overwhelming when deciding on a location. We usually stay at Yalong Bay, however, this summer, we decided to try Xiaodonghai for something different and were pleasantly surprised. Pros: -hosts a mix of luxury and affordable resorts and airbnbs but doesn't feel super touristy (we can highly recommend the Luhuitou Sanya Resort) -the shady palm tree-lined 🌴beach is very quiet and less crowded than most of Sanya's beaches -short drive to the popular Dadonghai beach where you will find the best nightlife at places such as Dolphin Bar & Grill. -lots of options on meituan -at low tide many rockpools become exposed which makes for an afternoon of fun exploring for the kids -has a large supermarket and small Chinese restaurants across the road from the beach -you aren't hassled every second by someone trying to sell you something, though you do get the odd person selling fruit which is nice -the beach is dog friendly but kept clean. Cons: -there is only a small section where you can swim because there are lots of rocks beneath the surface -there are many small sharp rocks and shells as you enter the water, however, once you're in it's fine. -it's not as beautiful at low tide Best location for those who want some peace and quiet throughout the day, but also access to a wide variety of bars and restaurants in the evening. 🍉🍹 #beachlife #sanya #sanyatravel #summervacation

Getting There - You can take a plane ✈️ or train 🚂 to Sanya. From there it’s a short Taxi drive to Xiaodonghai area. It’s right next to the famous Dadonghai beach area. Attractions - The beach is serene and amazingly comfortable. It’s quite when you go during the week and in off seasons. Such an amazing place to take your blanket and relax on the beach. Hotels - There are a few hotels in the vicinity, but we stayed in Dadonghai - which is only about 7 min drive away. Food & Restaurants - There are a few restaurants that’s usually open, but they weren’t open when we went in the off season. The beach is really easy to find either by didi or ebike. There are a number of fabulous restaurants linked to the intercontinental hotel along the beach. It's a must-visit when in Sanya.

We rented a GL8 seven-seater, 200 a day, and the landlord helped to enter the license plate. After that, the community parking underground parking lot was free to enter and exit, and there were plenty of parking spaces, which was very convenient. The garage can directly enter the house by elevator. Tianya District is not far from West Island, Tianya Haijiao, Tianya Town, Daxiao Dongtian, South China Sea Guanyin and other scenic spots. All the scenic spots are fun (anyway, the baby is playing with water and digging sand wherever he goes). By the way, when we went to Nanshan Scenic Area, there were too many cars, and the parking lot at the entrance of the scenic area was not allowed to enter. We could only park in the parking lot 1.2 kilometers away from the scenic area. It was really impossible to walk with children and the elderly. Then there were local villagers who rode motorcycles to pull live, 80 yuan a car (you can bargain), you can enter the parking lot at the entrance of the scenic area after a round in the village, saving a 2.4-kilometer trek, this money is too valuable.
