The simple and clean new design hall is connected to the main hall through the "Rainbow Bridge". It gathers classic works of many outstanding designers from home and abroad. The Children's Glass Museum is the first parent-child cultural destination in Shanghai and even in China that is themed on glass and tailored for children. It is dedicated to providing a fun and interactive experience space for knowledge, culture and art for children aged 4-12. The new Children's Glass Museum 2.0 is a contemporary art and design museum where curious cool kids (and their parents) can explore and learn more about this ever-changing material. Combining novel ideas, interesting designs, and the concept of combining education with entertainment, an imaginative glass world will be opened for children. Here, they can travel freely in a wonderful world that belongs only to them. In addition to being able to gain happiness, it can also inspire them to cultivate an independent heart of exploration, discovery and creation.

The Thermal Theater is committed to breaking through the traditional performance mode and interpreting the inheritance and innovation of glass craftsmanship in a tense form. The sense of limit of glass and the unpredictable characteristics of glass will be presented vividly in a variety of exciting ways. Different from the hot glass production demonstrations in traditional glass museums, the Thermal Theater breaks through tradition and combines superb glass production technology with artistic drama performances, sound, light and electricity to show the audience the extraordinary aspects of hot glass technology. At present, the Shanghai Museum of Glass has developed two Thermal Theater performances, namely "Dream" and "Wanderer".

The glass maze is adapted from one of the world's oldest games. The 575-square-meter glass maze turns the maze game into a special design experience. The maze makes full use of the material properties of glass and mirrors, presenting the visual game of refraction and reflection to perfection, and combines it into an "endless" psychedelic space in a surreal way. The design of lighting and music makes the maze game more exciting, and the check-in task of finding geometric figures makes the exploration more challenging. Please pay attention to safety in the maze, be calm, engaged and bold. Through the maze challenge, you will gain a whole day of surprises and happiness!

In the seventh year after its opening, the Shanghai Museum of Glass has gone the other way - actively "breaking" everything, presenting an exhibition that touches reality with breaking, connects emotions with breaking, and firmly believes that it can move every audience. The special exhibition presents a total of 21 installation works, which pierce the originally solidified and closed thoughts through sharp and heart-touching images related to "breaking", and visualize the emotions, experiences and memories that everyone will experience. At the same time, the emotional power of music will also play a very important role - each installation work is accompanied by a carefully selected exclusive song, which interprets the theme of the work more appealingly. The nearly 2,000 square meters of pure white exhibition design space will provide you with a viewing experience that transcends reality. What's even better is that you can also smash a glass cup here by yourself to experience the personal meaning of "breaking".

The DIY handcrafting courses cover ten mainstream glass manufacturing processes. Both adults and children can find the joy of hands-on creation here. The museum offers glass making DIY courses including lighting, blowing, hot melting, inlaying, painting, mosaic and beading, etc., with different levels of difficulty.
