The Twenty-Four Histories Academy is an oriental academy built around the IP planning of the "Twenty-Four Histories" by the Overseas Chinese Town Group, a large cultural tourism group, with an investment of more than 100 million yuan. It has built five major literary and artistic contents, including the Twenty-Four Histories Documents Series Exhibition, Dongpo Bookstore and other special bookstores, Xiaoliangmao Parent-Child Picture Book House, Huaxi Tea Party and Memory Folk Music Evening. At the same time, it holds three major literary and artistic competitions, including composition, picture books and music. With the purpose of "making reading better", it integrates reading, travel, social interaction and education to create a literary and artistic home for urban people. The academy is located in the cultural tourism area of Gankeng Ancient Town, Longgang, Shenzhen, covering an area of 30,000 square meters. It uses the aesthetics of oriental garden architecture as a space creation method, combines natural and architectural resources, and is scattered among mountains, rivers, forests and springs according to local conditions. In the future, the Twenty-Four Histories Academy will be deployed nationwide, combining local literature and history to build cultural themes, create cultural landmarks and literary and artistic homes, reproduce the grand cultural pattern of the "Twenty-Four Histories" and the millennium charm of Chinese academies, and contribute academy models to the great rejuvenation of Chinese culture.

Show More ReviewsI found this attraction in someone else's travelogue and had it in my mind for a long time before finally checking it out. The Twenty-Four Histories Academy is also part of Gankeng Ancient Town. While the ancient town is free to enter, the academy requires an entrance fee. If you have time, explore the ancient town first, eat and drink, then enter the academy, waiting for dusk when the lights turn on for some photos. However, aside from taking photos, there's not much else to do there. There are several book rooms where you can relax and read quietly, but be wary of mosquitoes as there are lots of plants.
