Darvazeh Quran of Shiraz

The Qur'an gate was a decorative gate built a thousand years ago in the north of Shiraz. Karim Khan had placed a "Qur'an" in the small room on the top of the gate for blessings. Under the influence of this "Koran", this city gatekeeper blesses the safe return of all who have not been pulled.

There are waterfalls on the cliffs behind the Koran Gate, and the Koran is surrounded by local people sitting on the ground or setting up stalls.
