The ancient city of Suzhou has become a paradise for thousands of merchants due to the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal. Today, nearly half of Suzhou's freight volume is still borne via waterways, adding a unique view to the Suzhou Ancient Canal. At this place, you can enjoy the scenery by taking a walk along the Suzhou Ancient Canal or taking a boat trip. The night view seen from the boat is very beautiful. The exquisite lighting is very compatible with the ancient city's architecture. It is intoxicating and makes you fully appreciate the gentleness and exquisiteness of the ancient city of Suzhou. The night cruise also offers a music performance on the boat and a guided explanation along the way. While sightseeing, you can enjoy the historical references to Suzhou and experience the city's profound cultural significance.

Besides its beautiful gardens, Jiangsu provinces Suzhou is famous for traditional waterside architecture. Downtown Suzhou is completely bounded by a large canal known as the Weichang River with 21 canals running through the city. Besides the main touristy street, there are a lot of streets without Mc Donalds, KFC, milktea & Co and you get to know local life at the canal.
🚶♀️ You can walk at the canals and see bridges and life by the river.
⛵ Take a boat ride through the city's canals at Renmin Bridge. An interesting way to see the city low down in the network of canals.
🍂 Winter, summer, spring and winter. Every season has its own beauty.
🏴 A good start to explore is Renmin Bridge.
Besides canals, Suzhou offers planty of classical gardens, temples, pagodas, but also restaurants, modern malls, bars and shops.

Beautiful ancient canals in Suzhou are such a site to see and walk along. My favorites were Piangiang and Shantang Rivers. At night, the lights make them extra magical! You'll find restaurants, tea houses, street food and lots if fun boutiques along the way. A must see!!
