Taohuayu

Taohuayu is located at the western foot of Mount Tai. The upper section is known as Peach Blossom Spring, while the lower section is Taohuayu. In ancient times, the name came from the valley filled with peach blossoms. Tang Dynasty poet Li He wrote in a poem, "Peach blossoms falling like red rain," and this place is also known as Hongyuchuan and Hongfuchuan. Taohuayu boasts beautiful scenery and a gurgling stream. It is also known for its Taishan red-scaled fish. Because of its clear water, high oxygen content, low mineral content, and low hardness, it is a breeding ground for the fish. Four different species—gold, silver, iron, and grass—live here. They roam among the crevices and algae, their figures nimble and graceful, swaying gracefully. Taohuayu is also a hiking route. Compared to other Taishan hiking routes, it is very convenient: visitors can arrive by car and then take the cable car up the mountain.
