This is the intersection of Shinkawa 1-chome on Eidai-dori, and there is an explanation board in front of Hotel Villa Fontaine. Mizukata Kawamura was from Ise and went to Edo at the age of 13, engaged in civil engineering work of the Edo Shogunate, and later started running a lumber shop. In the 3rd year of the Meireki era, during the great fire of the Meireki era, he bought up Kiso's timber and gained huge profits, which contributed to the development of shipping.
Only the information board remains on the west side pavement of Eidai-dori from Eidai-bashi to Reigishi-bashi. Mizukata Kawamura (1617 ~ 1699) is a flood controller in the mid-Edo period who opened shipping between Edo and Mutsu and Dewa. It is also famous for buying up Kiso's wood during the great fire of the Meiryaku era and gaining huge profits. One yen on Reigishi Island was the residence.
I feel sorry for it because it's only an explanation board.

This Kawamura Hataken Yashiki monument has only an explanation board along Eidai-dori, which runs through Shinkawa, Chuo-ku. Looking at the explanation board, there was a mansion of Mizukata Kawamura (1618~ 1699), who was active as a merchant of the Shogunate during the Edo period, and it was built in a tile-roofed dozo on a vast site and faced the Shinkawa River. Along with that, Zuiken's achievements and the range of the mansion are also described, but it is regrettable that it does not come to the pin because it is an explanation in characters. ...
There was an explanation version of the site of this mansion in front of the hotel villa Fontaine Kayaba town along Eidai-dori. It is said that there was a large mansion in this area during the Edo period, but now it has no remnants of it. It was written that he had made great achievements in shipping, flood control, civil engineering, etc., and it was a great learning experience.
There is an information board for "Kawamura Mizukata Mansion Ruins" along Eidai-dori. There are no illustrations with only letters. This area is a "recent townscape", and it is difficult to imagine from the information board that there was a large mansion here. I thought it would be nice if there were at least illustrations.
