Shuishi School

Weihai Shixue School is the only Qing Dynasty naval school to be found. Weihai Shixue School has been repaired for 114 years and has a general glimpse of the old. One of the highest universities that once trained naval talents, there are also the remains of British military camps nearby, which still have a strong warning educational significance.

20220926 All day: 1. "Weihai Shixuetang" is located on "Liugong Island". I arrived at Liugong Island Pier early in the morning so that I could have enough time to visit the whole island. The scenic bus goes directly but it takes 800 meters to get off the bus, and it is also very good to drive. The earliest boat is 7:30. Tourists take the boat with the island staff. They start the boat at 8:00. To get on the top viewing platform, they need to charge 10 yuan. After a quarter of an hour, they arrive at the tourist service center on the island. It is a five-story antique building with free drinking water and electronic explanation (30 yuan can rent a deposit of 100 yuan for the whole day). There are many free direct drinking tables in the scenic area. 2. The name of Liugong Island stems from the poisoning of Liu Fang, the son of Liu Min, who lived on the island and set a bonfire with his wife to guide the fishing boats, and often rescue injured fishermen. The people are grateful and named. 3. Near the fort is the "Weihai Shixue School". The original building was destroyed in the Jiawu War and was rebuilt in the modern era. The pomegranate tree at the main entrance is full of fruit. To the north is the classroom, dormitory and small stage. At that time, the training instructor was American Ma Jifen. When entering the temple, covered with the American flag and the Qing Dynasty Huanglong flag (the latter also covered with the Star-Spangled Banner), the epitaph is "to erect this monument to a warrior who, although deeply loved his motherland, gave his life to another flag". On the south side of the school is the outdoor teaching ground and the headquarters (locked door) during the British lease.

The Beiyang Shuishi School, located in the southwest of Liugong Island, was founded by Li Hongzhang, hoping to master Yichang skills to make Yi. But in the Sino-Japanese War, Cixi abandoned it and eventually lost the whole army, which was a bit of a choke.

Weihai Shixue School is located on Liugong Island, an earlier naval professional college in modern history of China, and the only Qing Dynasty naval school in China that is currently traceable. Beiyang Shuishi School is a relatively cold attraction on Liugong Island. Tourists are either few or hurried by, but it is actually worth a closer look.
