Mausoleum of the Queen Mother Bo

The Mausoleum of the Empress Dowager Bo, whose full name is the Nanling of the Empress Dowager Han, also known as Nanling, is located on the Bailu Plain in the southeast of Xi'an City. The owner of the tomb is Bo Ji, the biological mother of Liu Heng, Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty. The tomb is 29.5 meters high and 560 meters in circumference. The tombstone in front of the mausoleum was erected by Bi Yuan, governor of Shaanxi during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, with the characters "Han Bo Queen Mother Nanling". The location of Empress Dowager Bo's Mausoleum is very meaningful. Since Bo Ji was not the main room of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty and could not be buried with her, her mausoleum was built in the south of the Ba Mausoleum of Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty. Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty loved his parents respectfully throughout his life, and his Ba Mausoleum was placed with his mother, the Empress Dowager Nan Mausoleum, and the Empress Dou Mausoleum, in the form of "bringing a wife and carrying a mother". Nanling overlooks the Changling Tomb of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty across the Weishui River in the west, and the Baling of Emperor Wen is not far away in the east. Therefore, there is a saying in historical books that "look at my son in the east and my husband in the west", and the locals call it "Wangzi Tomb".
