Sanmenxia Dam Scenic Area on Yellow River

Sanmenxia Yellow River Scenic Area Sanmenxia Yellow River Scenic Area, Henan Province, Sanmenxia Yellow River Scenic Area, about 15 kilometers northeast of Sanmenxia City, Henan Province. Sanmenxia is rumored to be three leaking valleys cut into the water of Dagu, known as Shenmen, Ghostmen, and People's Gate. Ghost gates live in the south, the water flow is fast, you can't cross; Shenmen are in the middle, narrow can't boat; only people in the north can flow boats. The three islands that cut the water flow are also called ghost islands, people's islands, and Shendao. There are also three islands in the river below the three islands, called the alchemy stove, dressing table, and the middle stream column. The three islands have beautiful folklore, plus the beautiful scenery of the canyon, leaving many poems and good words since ancient times. The inscription poems engraved on the canyon stone island are more than 70, the most famous is the eight characters "crash and flowing ghost and axe work" engraved on the lion's head, which are carved in the Ming Dynasty during the Wanli period. When the Sanmenxia Dam was built in 1957, the ghost island, Shendao, Rendao, and dressing table were blown up, and only the refinery furnace and the middle flow column still stood in the center of the Yellow River. The main existing attractions are: Sanmenxia Water Conservancy Hub Project, Zhongliuzhu, the ancient plank road of the Yellow River, Sanmenxia Lake, Zhanggong Island, etc. The Chinese name Sanmenxia Yellow River Scenic Area is located about 15 kilometers northeast of Sanmenxia City[1] It is known as Shenmen, Ghostmen, and the main attraction of the Sanmenxia Water Conservancy Hub Project in 1957.
