Good Food!I can say they have very good dim sum for me(Im from Hong Kong).I never try dim sum in Thailand cos I think HK is the best and I dont want to compare with it.But this Lok Wah Hin is really good. Dim sum is alomst the same as HK.Staffs super friendly, service is super good too.Food will make me come back, and the price is reasonable.I will come back for sure and I like the dim sum dishes much.
Last Sunday, we had a family lunch at Lok Wah Hin, Novotel at Siam Square. We chose to have A LA CARTE dimsum menu due to its variety. We started our meal with basic Shrimp Hakao and Shumai with lots of choices; crab, shrimp, pork and vegetable. After the basic menu, we ordered some sort of quite unique menu e.g. White Chinese Chives Dumpling, Rice Noodle Crepe with Grilled Duck, Scallop Shumai and etc. The food presentation was traditional Chinese style, but all food was neatly prepared and served hot right after it's done. We couldn't say it's the world best dimsum, but it is one of the top dimsum restaurants in Bangkok. On that day, we also tried Special Set Menu, "Szechuan Set", which were composed of 7 dishes, including dessert, fried banana with ice-cream. The set menu was also nice and tasty and was good for either individual or sharing. I have only two small points of concern,(1) the waitress often mistaken refilled the drinks; Chrysanthemum and Tea and (2) the waiting time for dessert was slightly long. Anyway, those small flaws would not prevent me to go back there again.
Simple but goodI went there for Dim Sum lunch buffet. They offer first a soup which pleasant. After comes braised iceberg lettuces topped with Abalone mussels, which is a matter of individual taste. One can chooce different style of ried noodles or fried rice. A wide selection of dim sum can be chosen from the menu ( presented with pictures ). Pitty, that also this Chinese restaurant does not offer any beef dim sum, as in Chinese countries they are very common and very tasty. All in all, this offer is quit very good, value for money is good. But when it comes to order from the a la carte menu, the food quality is rather poor. Drunken chicken is absolutely not nice. I must say, it is very difficult to prepare a very nice drunken chicken. Service is very polite, friendly, makes one feel good to eat there.
