Stirring white rice not only tastes good, but also feels full. I finished eating and chatted with the chef Bee. She said that each curry is made with different spices. The yellow curry is made with turmeric, which has a smoother taste.
Bangkok ranked the top hotel, pork Dongyin Gong soup rice tastes good, the fish salad is also very delicious, the Thai pork pine tastes very good, roasted relatively dry, the entrance is crisp, very fragrant.
What A Gem! Worth the Hunt.This was definitely my best meal in Bangkok and one of the best on my trip. However, it took me a while to find it. Due to a problem getting taxis from my accommodation to this area I took the Skytrain option and the directions given on the Paste website were a bit vague for a walker unfamiliar with the area. However I eventually found it hidden away down a Soi off a Soi and was surprised that I was one of only 6 diners there that Sunday night - maybe the rest came later at night? It is a delightful small space and the staff are very attentive, but the highlight is the brilliant food. After a very tasty morsel of an appetizer I had a .Smoked Duck entree followed by Three Time Cooked Pork in Tamarind Caramel. Both dishes were very interesting and very tasty. I will return, unfortunately not soon enough.
Modern ThaiWe went to the new branch of Paste at Gaysorn Plaza.We have put this place on our places to eat in Bangkok list which we send to friends when they ask us.The food was different to what you normally find. Beautifully served, very tasty and interesting.We had the lemongrass cheese cake for dessert and loved it. It was more a deconstructed cheese cake and finished off a delicious meal perfectly.It is expensive by Thai standards.
Excellent !!!It was rather difficult to find but this is one of Bangkoks top restaurant. Great modern Thai food and in comparison to anything in Australia reasonable priced. A must do if you are in Bangkok.
Better than one might thinkAs a Bangkok resident I find Paste to be curiously underrated. In reality, it has gotten better over the last year or so, the kitchen seems to have come together well. This is carefully researched Thai food a bit like that of The Local on soi 23, but in some respects a little better ( not all ). Its a slightly small space, not much going on, but elegant and intimate - I like it. Theres a little cocktail bar upstairs that makes very good mixes. Last meal I had here was really excellent - I was a little surprised. Textured, deep curries, superb, complex salads. Its now one of my go-to places for serious Thai and they deserve some kudos.
Stunning food and service staffA lovely restaurant with superb service staff and some lovely views back over Bangkok.The food is modern Thai with some very interesting flavours, full flavours and not too spicy for my western palette. The ambience in the dining room was generally lovely except for one or two Australian Chefs in uniform sitting in the dining room having discussions about food, trip advisor and things in general. This impacted negatively on our experience
