Neuschwanstein: the fairytale & historical
#2023travelwish
Germany, one of the most popular tourist destination. By the long time history of this country, people comes and go with great memories.
Neuschwanstein is well know and most of travelers come to Germany will come here either not only for take a picture but also its story.
Neuschwanstein castle is identical. The views around the castle always change upon the season you go. I’ve been to Neuschwanstein castle on autumn, it’s beautiful place. The trees all around are colorful. I’d like to comeback here on this winter to enjoy the different views that I’ve been to, this is my 2023 travel wish.
Looking for the Sleeping Beauty
#2023travelwish
Germany is known for its many castles and visiting castles is just what we did while there. One of the most famous castles to visit is the Neuschwanstein Castle as the castle in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty was known to be inspired by it. It was quite a hike up as the castle is located deep in the forest, on a rugged hill in Southwest Bavaria.
There are many nature trails to choose from, depending on where you arrive from. The one we chose was a 7km route that was moderately challenging with lots of steep hills to climb. We spent roughly around 4 hours hiking and exploring the castles before heading back to the train station. It was cold, wet and rainy but that did not dampen our spirits as we were excited because we don’t have such architecture in Singapore.
It was such a memorable trip and I’ll love to visit Germany and it’s many castles again.
Neuschwanstein Castle In Munich Germany
Munich is located in Germany where they are uncountable nukber of medieval houses, buildings and castle where one called the Neuschwanstein Castle is an eye opener, where I feel that it's just something out of a fairy tale book.
This castle is located in Schwangau, built in the 19th century on top of the hill where you are able to catch a glimpse from the castle down towards the ground clearly of any approaching enemies during the olden times. This castle has also gained its popularity due to the Disney story called sleeping beauty which inspired that show.
If you do want to go in, you won't be able to enter as its closed till 2024 for renovation and upkeep of the castle. But at least take a few photos of this castle as a remembrance that you have been here at least.

Marienplatz Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
@ MARIENPLATZ, MUNICH.
Marienplatz (English: Mary's Square, i.e. St. Mary, Our Lady's Square) is a central square in the city centre of Munich, Germany. It has been the city's main square since 1158.
During the Middle Ages, markets and tournaments were held in the Marienplatz, which was originally called Markth ("market"), Schranne ("grain market") and later Schrannenplatz ("grain market square"). After said grain market was moved into the modern glass-and-iron Schranne near "Blumenstrasse" in 1853, the square received its new name, starting 9 October 1854.

Christmas Market in Munich, Germany 🇩🇪
The municipal Munich Christmas Market (Münchner Christkindlmarkt) will take place from Monday, November 27 to Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Marienplatz and Rindermarkt. The traditional Christmas market is an event of the Department of Labor and Economic Affairs (RAW) of the City of Munich.
Since 1972, the original Munich Christkindlmarkt, which dates back to the 14th century, has been held on Marienplatz. After a two-year Corona break, 135 merchandise and gastronomy stalls were back at the market in 2022. The program included Advent music from the town hall balcony, the Krampuslauf or the Himmelswerkstatt for children.
The heavenly workshop Himmelswerkstatt for children aged six to twelve is a little paradise for young craftspeople – crafting fun for free is the name of the game here. At the Krampuslauf (Krampus run), there is no need to be afraid of the creepy creatures and shaggy fellows. Every day, live Bavarian Stubenmusik (traditional folk music), brass bands and choirs set the mood for the Advent season from the town hall balcony. If you want to learn more about the history of the Christkindlmarkt, you can book a guided tour of the Christkindlmarkt at Marienplatz.
Venue: Around Marienplatz (main square) and in the Fußgängerzone (pedestrian street)
Date: 27 November to 24 December, 2023
Mulled wine 🍷 is always a MUST in Xmas Market !! 🎄

Christmas Market At Marienplatz
We travelled to Munich when we were travelling last December to Europe. It was the Christmas festive season and thus we wanted to visit a Christmas Market. Thus, what better place to visit than the one at Marienplatz. The market was quite big and have beautiful decorations and a big spectacular Christmas Tree. The majestic buildinga around it made the place look even more beautiful.
Marienplatz Central Square Munich Germany
Visited Marienplatz which is Mary’s Square in English. It is located in the city centre of Munich Germany. This new city hall was built between 1867 and 1909 with old looking neo-Gothic style. The old city hall is to the east in the direction of the valley which is almost 400 years old. Their Lord Mayor, city council and city administration has been residing in the new city hall. This is good starting point for a visit to the Bavarian capital. There are many stores and restaurants around Marienplatz. It is a major attraction if you are visiting Munich.

Konigssee Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Autumn-Trip to Königssee in Bavaria
Königssee (in English Kings-Lake) is probably one of the nicest places in Germany and Bavaria. It's in the very south of Bavaria, in the German Alps. Lake Königssee is part of the Berchtesgaden National Park and a perfect hike with your friends or family. 🏞️
📍The easiest way to visit Königssee is by car and parking (for a fee) is available. Königssee is located within Berchtesgaden National Park and is located about 2 hours from the Munich Airport and 30 minutes from the Salzburg airport. If you don’t have a car, there are buses running from Berchtesgaden and Salzburg.

Lots of tourists but worth it. Get there early and get a row boat. If you are fit enough, you will discover some of the world's most beautiful views from otherwise inaccessible areas. Go to Obersee through the lake. Amazing!!!#境外遊 #nationalpark

Don’t just visit Berlin and Munich… Germany has a stunningly beautiful place!!! Must go once in your life🤍💙💚you won’t regret it!!!#summervacation
Another part of German that is very different is Konigssee, this place is unique. It remind me a little bit of switzerland architecture but the air quality is exactly like switzerland. The water is clean, the city pretty quiet. Surrounded by the beautiful lake, paying a visit here should worth your time. #merrychristmas

The Town Of Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber
Germany is beautiful during the fall as the weather isn't too chilly in winter or too hot in summer. It's a great place to visit especially the small little German town of Rothenburg Ob De Tauber which is popular among the many olden medieval timber houses that you will see in your movies, which is almost identical!
This place is located up north of Munich approximately a 3hours drive which make this a very good roadtrip where you will pass many scenic features along the way, with endless greeneryand also stop by small little towns for a good pie or some German sausage and pommes!
Also, if you are not aware this place are also popular among some shows like the Harry Potter movie. Just spend maybe a 2/3 hours here visiting the little shops and restaurants that makes you feel right at home!

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a German town in northern Bavaria known for its medieval architecture. Half-timbered houses line the cobblestone lanes of its old town. The town walls include many preserved gate houses and towers, plus a covered walkway on top. St. Jakob’s Church houses an intricate, late Gothic altarpiece by woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider. The medieval Town Hall has a tower with panoramic views. The name "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" is German for "Red castle above the Tauber". This is so because the town is located on a plateau overlooking the Tauber River. As to the name "Rothenburg", some say it comes from the German words rot (red) and burg (burgh, medieval fortified settlement), referring to the red color of the roofs of the houses which overlook the river. The name may also refer to the process of retting ("rotten" in German) flax for linen production. The city was most likely inhabited by Celts before the 1st-century C.E.
In 950, the weir system in today's castle garden was constructed by the Count of Comburg-Rothenburg.
In 1070, the counts of Comburg-Rothenburg, who also owned the village of Gebsattel, built Rothenburg castle on the mountain top high above the River Tauber.
The counts of the Comburg-Rothenburg dynasty died out in 1116. The last count, Count Heinrich, Emperor Heinrich V appointed instead his nephew Konrad von Hohenstaufen as the successor to the Comburg-Rothenburg properties.
In 1142, Konrad von Hohenstaufen, who became Konrad III (1138–52), the self-styled King of the Romans, traded a part of the monastery of Neumünster in Würzburg above the village Detwang and built the Stauffer-Castle Rothenburg on this cheaper land. He held court there and appointed officials called 'reeves' to act as caretakers.

Germany actually has a fairy tale town that is sweeter than chocolate
walked around Germany, the most favorite is Rothenburg, this small town is so beautiful. Rothenburg is the essence of the German medieval town. It has not been destroyed by the war, and it has been repaired in the last 20 years. Its well-preserved old town recreates the medieval style.
1 Rothenburg is a relatively pure tourist city. Beyond the attractions, the city is dominated by souvenir shops, restaurants, cafes and hotels. The Old Town is small and can be reached on foot from all attractions.
If you want to enjoy a quiet town, it is best to stay in the city for one night, so that you can carefully look at this ancient and beautiful town in the early morning and evening when a large number of tourists do not appear.
2 One of the iconic landscapes in the city of Rothenburg, at the southern end of the old town, the stone road is "Y" shaped, with beautiful traditional wooden frame houses on both sides and a small fountain. The
3 clock tower platform on the market square can be climbed up to see the panoramic view of the town. Because it is a medieval building, the stairs are very narrow and there is a steep road.
Tickets: 2 Euros (tickets are bought at the top of the tower)
4Wrzburg to Rothenburg for more than an hour by train, you have to take a special line to get there.
