The Panchen Building, located in the Lama Palace, was built during the Qianlong period. It was used by the VI Panchen to enter Beijing for the rest of the Qianlong Emperor's life. Now the Panchen Building is used as an exhibition room for Tibetan Buddhist cultural relics, which displays relevant cultural relics of Tibetan Buddhism and the VI Panchen.
The predecessor of Panchen Building is the altar of the Fa, the famous pharmacist altar, which is dedicated to the pharmacist Buddha. Qianlong for forty-four years, the altar of pharmacist was demolished and converted into a two-story pavilion, which is unique in the ancient architecture of Beijing.
Panchen Building is the place where the sixth Panchen entered Beijing during the Qing Dynasty and rested after the Qianlong Emperor's birthday. It has now become the cultural relics exhibition room of the Tibetan Buddhist Art Museum of the Summer Palace. It displays cultural relics related to Tibetan Buddhism and the sixth Panchen.
The Lama Temple is full of incense and there are many people, especially when you burn your head every year.
