About Beiliu: Beiliu City, formerly known as the “passage between Guangdong and Guangxi” and “the province of Gutong,” has historically been a place of enormous wealth, also going by the names of “Little Buddha Mountain” and “Northern Flow of Gold.” Beiliu is the capital of household porcelain in China, and is also famed in China as the birthplace of the lychee, cement, architecture, and high-yield rice paddies. It is also home to the world’s largest bronze drum. Well-known attractions include the Goulou Caves, Mount Darong, Tongshi Mountain, the “Gate of Hell,” Weiren Mountain, Wanzhangsa, and Jingsulou.
