Beautiful place characterized by colorful wooden houses along the harbor. A great place to explore.
Brugen is located 3 km west of the center of Bergen by the sea. Brugen means "bank" in Norwegian. The buildings in the town are mostly wooden buildings, which are the concentration of famous ancient buildings. These renovated wooden houses, restored to the past, are mostly three-story houses, with long narrow windows, steep roofs, gables made of wood, and cabins generally have stone basements. Inside, there is also an open-air museum of 35 wooden houses from the 18th to 19th centuries, which focuses on the old style of the town.
The coloured wooden houses on the front of the Bruggen pier are Bergen's business cards. These colorful huts are in their own area, once an important business trading location in the pier area, and they have a very simple and strong structure, a unique view of the coastal port. Now it has been recognised as a World Heritage Site and the interior has been transformed into a wide variety of tourist souvenir shops. This is probably the most concentrated and lively tourist goods sales area on the west bank of Norway, so students who need pickpockets may wish to spend some time here. There are many unique Norwegian mountain monster derivatives available here. These little dwarfs, with their small eyes, nose and feet, were the most proud products of the Norwegians, who, while ridiculously good-looking, were regarded as good-hearted forest elfs.
What a beautiful architecture and colour building in Bergen ! You have to come to the city centre and admire this.
Bergen is located on the west coast of Norway, not only a famous concentration of ancient buildings, but also the only example of Hanseatic League overseas merchants, it is also a valuable relics of the initial stage of urban development and Nordic wood architecture. Bergen is Norway's second largest harbor city. The King of Norway built the capital here in 1070. German merchants in the 12th century controlled the real trade power here. Bergen became a major trade place for East and West and prospered. The East City has a German merchant hall built in the 14th century and was once the residence of German merchants. Therefore, it is called "German Pier".
