We ate in the Grill on two nights during our recent 5 night stay at this hotel. The Grill is still mentioned in the Michelin Guide although the hotel itself is no longer listed -(we think it won&#39;t be long before it regains its place)- and although we also ate in two other Michelin rated restaurants during our stay, we thought the Kempinski Grill was the best. It is old classic style luxury and comfort in terms of the d&eacute;cor, (candles, fresh flowers and crisp linens) with nice, professional but friendly and attentive service. The menu is not extensive but includes plenty of choice and seasonal options, and we were very impressed with our choices, which included calves liver, turbot, stuffed trout and fillet steak amongst the mains, all cooked to perfection. Good wine list and we tried some German wine recommendations that were new to us on the advice of the sommelier and we were impressed with those too. The little extras are nice too: petit fours with the excellent coffee and lovely choices of breads etc. My husband was belatedly celebrating a milestone birthday the first evening we were there, and they sang happy birthday to him, much to his embarrassment (but nicely so!) and bought some special sweetmeats with candles to him. I was very impressed by the staff and the cooking and the overall experience.
