I've never been to Russia but this place just might be as close as you can get without traveling. If there was a charm to the Cold War-era, Voland has it with its dark wood and red curtains. You can imagine a KGB-officer treating a Stasi-collegue to a hearty meal for turning over some material: Voland has the setting of a John le Carré novel. On top of that, expect great food and music intermezzos.
Our German-Russian friends invited us for a dinner in Voland and we had a wonderful evening in this restaurant with a cozy Russian living room feeling. The live music was entertaining and the service nice. And I really liked the Russian bier!
A little piece of Russia in the middle of Berlin. The food was tasty and the vodka warmed the atmosphere. It was a very nice evening, thank you!
