The Aveda Grottoes are only Buddhist grottoes and are famous for their murals. It is worth mentioning that in addition to the grottoes full of history and art, it is located in a horseshoe-shaped valley, surrounded by lush and beautiful.

The murals of the Aveda Grottoes are another amazing highlight. This is the oldest, most complete, most beautifully colored, most complex picture, most realistic painting art of the characters. When I first saw these murals, the shock that brought me was indescribable.

Because I have seen several large grottoes such as Mogao Grottoes in China, I was not surprised when I first saw Aveda, but the Buddha sculptures in the grottoes are still very distinctive. The grottoes are carved on a crescent-shaped dark rock cliff in the mountains, which is in line with the cave culture of Buddhism hidden in the mountains. There are several famous Buddhist grottoes on the Degan Plateau, and Aveda is the most comprehensive of them. It combines architecture, sculpture and painting, and is the best example of classical Indian culture preserved to date.

Zhan Togtto Group. The shock of the grottoes and murals makes the overnight train journey worth the effort. The Aveda Buddhist Grotto Group was chiselled in the 2nd century BC and continued straight to the middle of the 7th century. It is more than 2,000 years old. There are 30 caves (including one unfinished cave). From east to west, it is 550 meters long, and all are carved on the cliff face ranging from 10 to 30 meters from the ground. Except for the 5 caves (i.e. the 9th, 10th, 19th, 26th, 29th) for the worship of the faithful, the remaining 25 are Visilios. Xuan Xuan, a monk in the Tang Dynasty of China, has made the earliest records of it. Found accidentally by the British hunting here in 1819. In 1983, it was included in the World Heritage List. The grottoes are distributed in the mountains in horseshoe shape. The murals are the most notable art in the Aveda grottoes and are considered to be important representatives of ancient murals in India. The large number of real-life scenes on the picture illustrate that the painting art for religious service has appeared secularization. The many images of women depicted in the painting, with full body, elegant posture and noble and elegant image, reflect the aesthetic thought of classical Indian art. The colours used in the murals are all extracted from natural stone by monks, and their colorful colors are still vividly preserved.
