Mono Lake

Mono Lake is the second largest lake in eastern California. It is one of the oldest lakes in North America. The lake has no exit and is evaporated, so it leaves a large amount of salt deposits in the lake, which is more than twice the salinity of ordinary seawater. Mono Lake lies in a lifeless, grassless desert, 8,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by mountains 2,000 feet above the lake, and the peaks are covered in clouds and mists all year round. This majestic, quiet, sail-shape-the sea-the most desolate inhabitants of the most bleak corner of the earth-not much light was touched by the surrounding scenery. It was a vast ash-covered water, a hundred miles round, two small islands in the center, but only a bulging crust and lava of volcanoes, like snow, a pile of gray pumice and ash, and the zigzag slopes of dead volcanoes, The lake was sealed up and flooded into the huge dead crater.

Mono Lake lies in the mountains, hiking through large mountain bushes to the lake, and sees a large limestone tower (Tufa) standing, which is formed underwater, after hundreds of years of growth to reveal the water and eat the lake shore. Eventually the lake shrinks and the land on the lake expands.

The water in the dry season lake is also very clear. The paradise-like environment makes people easy to relax and linger. You can see it soon from the east side of Yosemite Mountains. There are many parking spots on the roadside.
