The history of the school, the achievements of teachers, and the achievements of students, all schools regard this as their own glory and value, and these three are a logically connected whole, and this is the main line of school history. Hunan Agricultural University regards the "Xiuye School" founded in 1903 (later renamed Hunan Provincial School of Agriculture and Forestry) as the predecessor of the school. However, it is difficult to find the context of the "xiuye school" in terms of the academic studies, teaching inheritance, and school management philosophy of Hunan Agricultural University. This is my first impression of seeing the school history museum. Therefore, the school establishment date indicated in the Hunan Agricultural University's anniversary guide book is 1951. It should be said that this is a realistic attitude. At the entrance of the School History Museum, there is the "Hundred-Year History Fu of Hunan Agricultural University", which lists the honorable professors of Hunan Agricultural University for many years: Li Yizhi, Liu Ziming, Zhou Ruhan, Li Fengsun, Zhou Shenghan, Hu Dujing, Pei Xinshu, Li Zongdao, Chen Xingyan, Lu Songhou These brilliant scholars are indeed the pride of Hunan Agricultural University. However, the earliest of them was the professor after the school was founded in 1951. We didn't even see the names of graduated students. Perhaps, the school believes that no one of the previous graduates has been outstanding enough to be nominated by this gift. This can be regarded as the school's self-evaluation. As for other publicity photos and results, it is difficult to change the above concepts. Now, Hunan Agricultural University has named the school history museum "Siyuan Museum", which was a library built in 1960 after the Hunan Agricultural University was located. Therefore, my overall feeling after visiting the school history museum is: Hunan Agricultural University has been established for more than 60 years. She has cultivated a large number of practical talents for New China’s agriculture. This is also her main contribution to New China’s agriculture. But no outstanding talent has been born here.
