A bustling place by the riverThis well-maintained Buddhist complex is situated by the river. We visited during Songkran (Buddhist New Year) and watched various rituals including the release of birds, toads, water snakes and fish. After taking our shoes off, we were able to walk around the interior of the temple and observed prayer sessions.
The Chaimengkun Temple is a short walk from the old town and not far from the marina. Many people buy fish, frogs and turtles for release, sleeping dogs are everywhere in the shade, and the temple has been around for more than 600 years.
Located on the eastern glacier, the temple is one of the oldest community temples in Chiang Mai, and it has a wide range of cultures, such as Burmese Buddhist Pagoda and Chinese Guanyin Temple. It was built 600 years ago and is known as the Shengli Temple of Auspicious Significance.
This well maintained Chaimengkun Temple is located on the riverside. We visited the Water Sprinkler Festival Buddhist New Year and watched ceremonies including the release of birds, lizards, water snakes and fish, and were able to walk around the temple and observe prayer meetings after taking off our shoes.
In the ancient city of Chiang Mai, you can see all kinds of Buddhist temples, the size of the temple, some of the history, look very broken. But the same is true, every thing temple has many devout Thai locals praying.
