Initially, you can see on the front side of the stone bridge that there are countless outstretched hands resembling the hands of people in purgatory. Black House, or Baan Dam, was designed and built by contemporary Thai artist Thawan Duchanee over a period of 36 years. Black House is a collection of 40 buildings featuring a number of exhibits related to death and hell, combined with animal bones, hunting tools, antiques and specimens of primitive man, all integrated into various works of modern art. Baan Dam is the complete opposite of the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), a visit to each offering interpretations of heaven and hell, a contrast of good and evil. Some exhibits are still considered controversial.
