An addict of this Northern Thai classic, I was very happy with the offering here. I had two bowls. The value for money is astounding, and also the coffee is to die for. Don&#39;t expect warm, friendly service though - this caters for the backpacker crowd too and it has rubbed off on the staff who don&#39;t engage easily

My Thai friend recommended me to try the Khao Soy (a type of spicy crispy noodle) and I managed to find that the stall selling this dish was very near to where i was lodging at. It&#39;s the best meal I had when I was here, I had it for breakfast the next morning. It is a little spicy, and you can choose from a variety of meat - fish, shrimp, chicken, etc. The staff and owner don&#39;t seem to speak English but you can always point on the menu. Very affordable too! The locals eat here. Must try when you&#39;re in Chiang Rai! They open from 7 am to 4 pm if i didn&#39;t remember wrongly.
