If top notch service and food is your thing, you will never want to give this restaurant a miss. This is like semi fine dining setting serving tasty Austrian food.
Kraftwerk restaurant & winebar
Schmittenstraße 12a, 5700 Zell am See, Austria
Chance upon this lovely restaurant as it has a 4.5/5 rating on Google map and decided to drop in without any reservation on a Friday night.
Best decision ever. I manage to secure the last table without any reservation, perhaps because I was there relatively earlier at around 6pm plus.
Served with great hospitality, the sever took my jacket, hang it for me before showing me my table.
They have English Menu and only the “Today’s Special” is handwritten in German.
Food Tried:
1) Niedunsiller organic goose from Wiesberghof with baked apple and blaw cabbage €29 [8/10⭐️]
2) Fillet of beef with polenta and herbs Saitling €39 [10/10⭐️]
3) Tatar of Butternut-pumpkin (vegi) variation of pumpkin € 14. [9/10⭐️]
4) Homemade bread - Organic butter - spreads € 4 [9/10⭐️]
One of the most lovely dinner I had in Austria thus far.
highly recommended!
Complimentary mini dough with vegetables and Hazelnut Schweppes was given too!

Schmittenhöhe Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
In addition to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier where the Salzburg is located, there is also a ski resort in Zell am See-Kaprun in winter: Schmittenhhe.
After slipping through Ski Amade, I slipped a hand on several blue roads in Schmittenhoehe. Different cable cars or high-altitude snow chairs bring skiers to the slopes that suit their level. On sunny days, skiing fun is multiplied, and even the cable car feels like enjoying the beautiful scenery of Zell am See.
Elisabeth Queen (Sissi) walked in the mountains of Schmittenhhe. In order to commemorate her visit, the "Elizabeth Church" was built on the top of the mountain. The top of the church was covered with white snow. The princess was quiet and beautiful. At the top of the observation deck, you can enjoy 360-degree views of Lake Zell. If you are lucky, you can also overlook the highest peak in Austria, Dazhongshan. It is no wonder that this mountaintop is known as the "Top Ten Views of Austria". First class!
