Founded in 1980, Benxi Museum is a local comprehensive museum integrating collection, display, scientific research and protection. In 2005, the total investment of about 50 million yuan began to build a new museum, covering an area of 1.59 hectares, construction area of 8,000 square meters, exhibition area of about 4,000 square meters. On January 11, 2010, the new museum was officially opened free of charge.
