When I was walking on the mountain road from the lighthouse on Okunojima, there was a signboard on the site of the southern lighting station and I stopped by. All the equipment on the former lighting platform was removed and only the bricks that had been the foundation were left behind. The Geiyo Fortress, including Okunojima, has been formed and you can feel the former appearance.

It's on a hill in the south of the island.

Okunojima has a sad past. The site of this southern lighting station is on the south side of the island near the harbor, but I couldn't enter when I went.

It's one of the two lighting sites.

There are two lighting sites on Okunojima in the south and in the north. There are still electric lamp wells in the south. Under the stairs are off limits.
