Shirakami Mountain is a well-known scenic spot in Aomori Prefecture. However, there are not many tourists throughout the year. It is particularly cool to escape the heat in summer. We went there in the early spring. The mountain just opened here, but we just walked around the Twelve Lakes at the foot of the mountain. It's still cold, the scenery is pretty good

I finally know why this place is called Aomori. These are the colors of summer. The water of Lake Towada flows slowly or rapidly along the Oirase River, and the hairy chestnuts fall to the ground.
When I went there was in late April, Baishen Mountain had not yet opened, so I can’t go deep into this virgin forest to see the large beech and wild animals. I can only walk around the Twelve Lake at the foot of the mountain. I hope I will have a chance to come.
Shirakami Mountain-located in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, is one of the World Natural Heritage. Covering an area of about 450 square kilometers, it is a virgin forest that has not been cut down by humans. There are large beech forests and wild animals such as Japanese monkeys and woodpeckers. There are also many small streams and waterfalls in it, which is a natural world.
Shirakami Mountain is a World Natural Heritage Site, and it is actually at the border of Aomori and Akita Prefectures. You usually get off at Akitashirakami Station when you take JR trains. As it is in the north of Japan, if you go in winter, the mountains will accumulate snow. The trees must turn green after May to look good.
