wanted to experience some of the UP and this adventure affords that from the bridge up. The grounds are extremely well maintained and interesting to roam about. A short walk out a boardwalk opens up to vista views of lake Superior although it was way too cold and windy to linger and enjoy for any amount of time. The waves were incredible and something unusual to see I imagine. We did not do the museum as again, I did not allot enough time for all there is to experience here. The length of time depends on your interests and seeing the museum or not The gift shop is charming and the staff is so welcoming and full of chat if you choose. The October fall color was finally evident and impressive on the journey here. We took the road along the lake and the scenic byway back to Sault St. Marie. Really glad for the experience.
