Clearly, this tiny museum has occupied other places and can now find permanent residence at the old Santa Fe Railway warehouse. Curator/narrator/ticket-buyer says it occupies two rooms, but, honestly, it's more like a half, because the lounge room also has a table that holds your $5 ticket and distributes tickets and other literary works. But the selection of works by artists associated with Claremont is not shameful. You may find at least one couple arrested in the best way possible. Most of these are paintings. The museum staff explained to us in detail the background of an artist and other works he found on the town's public buildings, including the local post office. There is also a finely decorated small sculpture section that includes a gruesome spear (fish, not weapons) and a pair of moving characters hugging in cape-clad shelters, reminiscent of the anxiety of refugees and other so-called "alien" people. I am impressed by these principles and hope they do well in finding the right space to commemorate the town's artistic heritage.
