Ancient City Tour Guide, recommended route: Ancient City Walls - Mahathat Temple - Temple Palace (PHA DAENG) - Wat Si Sawai - Wat Sa Si
The ancient city walls were built during the Sukhothai Dynasty, with a rectangular layout divided into three layers, constructed in three different periods. Approximately 1800 meters long and 1600 meters wide, the walls served as a defensive barrier that has helped preserve the city's youth.
Mahathat Temple
Mahathat Temple is located in the center of the park and was also the center of the Sukhothai capital. A central Buddha is surrounded by stupas and four 9-meter standing Buddhas. The lotus-shaped stupa spire design is a traditional Sukhothai art style.
Wat Si Sawai
Wat Si Sawai is located to the south of Mahathat Temple, featuring Khmer-style stupa architecture, with three independent stupas remaining, as well as elements of Hindu architecture.
Wat Sa Si
Wat Sa Si is located to the northwest of Mahathat Temple, boasting bell-shaped stupa architecture, and is known for its Sukhothai-Sri Lanka bell tower beauty.
A combined ticket for the temples costs 20 yuan.
Transportation guide, Sukhothai Historical Park is located in the center of Sukhothai Old City, about 20 minutes from the New City area and approximately 15 minutes from the bus terminal. Travelers can take a tutu car.
You can rent a bicycle to tour the Historical Park, which costs 6 yuan per day.
Food guide, opposite Sukhothai Park there is a local market, where local snacks and delicacies converge. The average cost per person starts at 10 yuan.
Absolutely worth it. If you can, visit on weekend when after 6pm when the staff turn on the light in some temples (all main temple), great architecture, surprisingly not crowded by tourists.
Amazing place to visit compared to its par - Ayutthaya. However I found the limitation specifically transportation which less convenient~ Otherwise I would give 5/5!
Excited to visit Sukhothai Historical Park With a long history, inside many temples and castles gathered like a city One outside is surrounded by moats that are like a fortress in the past. Even though it is a bit worn But still beautiful There is a very large Buddha image and other important historical sites. Many more, including the monument of Pa Khun Ramkhamhaeng. with the inscription of the father Khun Ram as well Anyone who has come to a small province like Sukhothai will definitely be stuck with the great history of this province.
Very recommended historical parks, different temples, different statues
The site is quite large and I rented a bicycle to go around. There were ruins such as temples and Buddha statues at certain intervals. It's quite hot, so it's recommended to go during the cool hours in the morning or in the evening.
