Dalian Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Xinghai Square Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The sisters have arrived in Europe, just like Dalian!! (With guide)
Dalian in winter is really too beautiful! Although I didn't see heavy snow
but the sunset by the sea is really beautiful!! The scenery is not inferior to foreign countries!
·
Day 1️⃣
Zhongshan Square—Russian Style Street—Nanshan Road—Donggang—Oriental Water City
If you have enough time in the morning, you can also go to Songyun Temple
Day 2️⃣
Cross-sea Bridge—Zoo—Silver Beach—Fujiazhuang Park
The zoo can be visited or not, because I want to see pandas, so I arranged it. In summer, the zoo can be replaced with Haida cable car, at the Lotus Mountain viewing platform, the sea view is very beautiful
Day 3️⃣
Sea Rhyme—201 Tram-Fisherman's Wharf—Lingjiao Bay
Sea Rhyme and Bangchui Island are next to each other, you need physical strength to play~ We chose Sea Rhyme, took a taxi to the south gate, took a sightseeing car to the Rising Sun Square-check in at the Morning Beach
Then exit the north gate to reach the Sea Rhyme bus station and take the tram, there are three stations🆓
Day 4️⃣
Tower Bay—Black Reef Park—Xinghai Square
🏠: Stay near Xinghai Square, it is very convenient to travel,
or Zhongshan Road, there are more places to eat
·
Dalian is very beautiful! Come again when it's warmer!!
You don't have to go to the Seine, the Xinghai Square in Dalian after the snow is so beautiful!
This is really not abroad! But Dalian~
This place is right next to the Dalian Swimming Hall at Xinghai Square
After the snow, it's really beautiful to cry!
The riverside is the European-style building with a roof covered with white snow
There are also mist and some seagulls in the morning!
No matter how you take pictures, they are all good
And compared to the Silver Beach, there really aren't many people~
-
📷tips:
1️⃣The photos were taken by the river next to the Dalian Swimming Hall bus stop~ It's really great to take pictures of the European-style buildings of Xinghai Square here! And there is also a large grass slope next to it, the snow is also very good to shoot~
2️⃣Remember to go in the morning~ The mist will rise on the river surface in the morning and the photos will be more beautiful! You can bring some dry food with you~ Because I saw some seagulls this time! (But there are more seagulls on the beach of Xinghai Square)
-
📍Next to Dalian Swimming Hall
🚗Take the bus to Dalian Swimming Hall Station and get off
Dalian 1-day tour | Experience the romance of half mountain and half sea
Dalian, the city of romance. Different seasons have different romances, today I share a one-day tour route that I have personally experienced.
.
Day1️⃣: Dalian Natural History Museum→Breakfast→Binhai West Road→Lotus Mountain→Lunch and rest→Xinghai Square→Fujiawan→Cross-sea Bridge Night View→Dinner
.
❤️Watch the sunrise at Dalian Natural History Museum (6:30-8:00)
The romantic day starts with watching a sunrise🌅. Before the sunrise, go to the beach next to the Dalian Natural History Museum, where you can take pictures of the sunrise slowly rising over the cross-sea bridge (unfortunately, the luck was too bad that day, and I didn't see it in the end😭), and take a set of beautiful reef shots.
.
🧡Binhai West Road + Lotus Mountain (9:00-12:30)
Binhai West Road walking route, feel the romance of half mountain and half sea. Climb to the top of Lotus Mountain to overlook Dalian 360° (unfortunately, the fog was too heavy that day, and again😭)
.
💛Xinghai Square (14:00-15:30)
One of the landmark buildings of Dalian, with a total area of 1.76 million square meters, here you can get close to the seagulls and touch them
.
💙Fujiawan (16:00-17:30)
Take a leisurely walk on the beach, or experience the fun of catching the sea.
.
💜Cross-sea Bridge Night View (18:00-18:30)
The night view of the cross-sea bridge🌉 is definitely a beautiful scene you can't miss.
.
Dalian winter one-day citywalk, originally wanted to start from the romantic sunrise🌅, and end when the night lights up🔚. Although there is regret that I can't see the sunrise, it doesn't prevent it from being a romantic and beautiful day.

Escape the Chinese summer heat
There is nothing cultural or historic about Xinghai Square, however, it is still one of my favoruite places in all of China. It makes you feel the excitement of being by the sea and playing on rides just like a child. I live in Shanghai and still love to spend a summer holiday in Dalian and in Xinghai square, the perfect summer holiday desitnation in China.
Whilst the rest of China is super hot, Dalian feels like an oasis. The cool sea breeze and less humid climate. Xinghai square is a great place to enjoy the fun of Dalian.
The square itself is just a very large area of grass which makes walking and parking to the seafront more difficult. However, it is beautifully maintained and adds to the charm.
Next to the square are lots of fun rides, some good restaurants and a large concrete monument/ structure which looks like something from a skate park.
The square gets very busy in the summer but never enough to need to queue for things. There is a small area of beach which can get dirty with things from people’s barbeques. However, there is a great view of the bridge and out to sea.
One of our favourite (but childish) things to do is to rent a small electric car and drive it around. You cant go very far but it all adds to the childish fun of this place.
In our time in Dalian we found ourself going back here again and again

Experience Venice in Dalian City
The Oriental Venice Water City in Dalian is inspired by the charm and architecture of Venice, Italy, often referred to as the "Venice of the East." I have always wanted to visit Italy, little did I know that I will experience it's ambience in China.
The water city offers tourists a unique and immersive experience of a European-style canal town.
Getting there: Get metro, line 2 and alight at the conference center.
Highlights: A series of beautifully designed bridges that connect various parts of the water city, creating a scenic and tranquil atmosphere. The stunning architecture is breathtaking. Very conducive for family outings.
Activities: cruise along the canals in gondolas, ride on boats, art displays, and festivals
Shopping: There are many quaint shops and boutiques selling unique gifts, souvenirs, and local crafts.
Restaurants: Numerous cafes and restaurants offer a wide range of cuisines, allowing visitors to satisfy their taste buds while enjoying the scenic surroundings. Budget at least 100¥ per person, to get a decent meal, including beverages. #summervacation #china_diaries #chinatrip #chinatour #2023travel #daliantravel #daliandiaries #travel_2023 #watercity #summer2023 #attractions #veniceindalian #friendtrip #friendsfun #summerfun

Until I went to Yantai❗️I fell in love with this romantic and niche city ||| Recently went to Qingdao, Weihai, and Yantai.
Before, I didn't know much about the city of Yantai.
After going there, this seaside 🏖️town brought me too many surprises!
Share a 3-day travel guide and photo spots with everyone, yyds!
Everyone, hurry up and get on your horses 🌈
🚗[Transportation]
We are self-driving, about 80 yuan per day, it's very convenient to go anywhere, parking in Yantai is not expensive, and there are many free parking lots by the seaside, which is totally acceptable.
⏰[Itinerary arrangement]
Day 1: Whale watching 🐳 at the beach - Jinshatan Seaside Park - Yantai Mountain - Fisherman's Wharf
Day 2: Binhai Middle Road - Yantai University - Suo Chengli - Pink Beach
Day 3: Yangma Island
📸[Great place for taking photos]
🎈Seaside Park (free)
The stranded whale that many people have been asking about is right here! Navigation 🧭 City Exhibition Center, free parking! If you want fewer people for taking photos, go in the morning!
🎈Yantai Mountain Park (free)
Yantai Mountain Park offers a panoramic view of the sea and the cityscape of Yantai, and you can also go down to the beach.
🎈Fisherman's Wharf (free)
The Fisherman's Wharf has very beautiful European-style buildings, known as Little Prague. Especially during sunset, it's a great place for taking photos! There are also some cafes on the wharf where you can sit and relax.
🎈Binhai Middle Road (free)
The coastline of Binhai Middle Road is super beautiful. I almost go there to stroll every day. There are also many beautiful road signs along the way. Taking pictures of the sidewalks together, the street style atmosphere is full!
🎈Pink Shell Beach (Free)
Here are many pink shells, don't miss them if you like them!
🎈Yongma Island (free)
Yangma Island is a place I really like in Yantai, known as the "Little Maldives"! Drive or rent an electric bike to circle the island clockwise, the sea, the pier, the sunset, you won't be disappointed! (✒️A detailed introduction to Yangma Island will be provided in the next article)
🏠[Accommodation]
It is recommended to live near Yantai University, which is close to Binhai Middle Road and has a wide variety of food options. You can also take a walk by the seaside at night and enjoy the sea breeze, which is extremely comfortable.
🍜[Food]
Yantai and Weihai are both close to Korea, so there are more Korean-style restaurants. We usually eat near the university campus and look for popular restaurants, which is never wrong.
🌈Yantai, this seaside town, is clean, comfortable, and has beautiful scenery with few people.
Until now, thinking back still makes me miss the days over there so much 🥰, they were too beautiful!
Dalian’s Fisherman Pier
Dalian is one of my favorite cities in China.
This city is very walkable and has so much to offer.
Fisherman pier is one of the most popular locations in Dalian. Enjoy a nice little stroll and above all, the view. If you’ve ever been to Lunemberg in Nova-Scotia 🇨🇦, this place has the same vibe.
Have fun!

Jinshitan Scenic Area Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Dalian
Dalian Jinshitan National Tourist Resort, known as the 'Divine Sculpture Park' and reputed as a 'Gentleman's Paradise', is a national-level tourist resort in China, established in 1992 with the approval of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. This place encapsulates geological wonders dating back 600 to 300 million years, forming spectacles known as 'Oriental Divine Sculptures' such as marine abrasion shores, marine erosion caves, and marine erosion pillars. It includes the Rose Garden, Dragon Palace, Nanxiu Garden, and Aotan, four major scenic areas, with over a hundred attractions like the Dapeng Spreading Wings and the Dinosaur Swallowing the Sea, majestic and lifelike, which experts call a 'frozen animal world'.
Dalian Jinshitan is definitely worth a visit, and this article is all you need
South has Sanya Bay, north has Jinshitan! Here you have both the sunny beaches and geological wonders. This place is the Dalian Jinshitan Resort Area, which is my favorite spot in Dalian💯, without a doubt❗
📍Location: Jinshitan Resort Area is located in the Jinzhou District of Dalian, at the northeastern corner, about 50 kilometers from downtown Dalian, and it takes an hour and a half by car🚗.
🏠Accommodation: We arrived at around five in the evening and specially arranged to stay at a homestay next to the beach, which is a ten-minute walk away
🏖【Jinshitan Beach】: I heard that it's very lively and beautiful here at night. After having visited many beaches before, we decided to take a walk after dinner to see the night view, and it did not disappoint! The main entrance is at Gate 3⃣️, which is the busiest area and also where I took the photo of the pink rabbit🐰. There's a market and some children's amusement rides🎡. In the evening, many people set off fireworks🎆 here, creating a great atmosphere🎈. The sand is also very comfortable to walk on, and it must be great to play here during the day too!
🌄【Jinshitan Geological Park】: We went to the geological park early the next morning, but it started to rain. Afraid that the park would close, we still decided to take a look, and fortunately, it was open as usual! The paths in the park are mostly wooden plank roads, so it's very safe🆗. There are raincoats for sale at the entrance of the park, ranging from 10 to 25 yuan, and they are very useful. Walking in the geological park on a rainy day🌧️ was the best experience for me. First, it was very cool and comfortable! Second, walking next to the strange rocks added a layer of mystery! The whole tour took 2 hours, and there was a shuttle bus at the last stop, running every 20 minutes, without an additional charge. The most worth seeing is the turtle-back stone🐢 at the end, which is extremely rare in the world and non-renewable on Earth, formed over 600 million years. Seeing it really makes you marvel❗ at the magic of nature!
If you come to Dalian and have time, you must come and see it, it's definitely worth the trip!🉑✅

I regret coming to Dalian so late! A seriously underestimated northeastern coastal city
I thought Harbin and Mohe were beautiful enough, until I came to Dalian!
Dalian is definitely a seriously underestimated northeastern tourist city.
During my recent trip to the northeast, because I couldn't get a flight from Harbin to Guangzhou,
So I deliberately rushed from Mudanjiang to Dalian for 2 days and then came back. I was completely amazed by this exotic coastal city. The sea, snow, seagulls, lighthouses, European-style towns, and century-old buses. My friends thought I went abroad when they saw my moments.
If you come to the northeast, you might as well come to this city of romance.🥳

👉My 2-day 1-night route
Day1: Lingjiao Bay→Fisherman's Wharf→Venice Water City→Xinghai Square
Day2: Culture Street Struggle Lane→Century Street→Zhongshan Square Dalian Art Museum→Russian Style Street
-
📸About taking pictures
✨Lingjiao Bay: Take a photo with the Fisherman's Wharf on the opposite side, rows of colorful houses, really feel like Italy
✨Venice Water City: The buildings inside have a European water city feel, unfortunately, the river is frozen in winter and there are no small boats, but the Seagull Bar next to it, I really love it, so many seagulls!
✨Dalian Art Museum: A very unique Gothic building, the red wall and pointed roof are next to the street full of Russian style, very fairy tale
✨Culture Street, Struggle Lane: The alley built along the mountain is where most of the old Dalian people live. Now it has also integrated many literary and artistic small shops, half retro and half trendy, very suitable for Citywalk
The word 'Dalian' is also here, you can 🛰️ navigate to the Magic Pot Coffee
✨Zhongshan Square: Dalian's 'Wall Street', it is said to be modeled after the star-shaped square in Paris, France. Standing in the middle of the huge circular square, you can see European-style buildings everywhere, groups of pigeons, especially romantic~ You can also walk to Century Street and take a ride on the century-old tram
✨Xinghai Square: It is said to be the largest square in Asia, I especially like to blow the sea breeze by the sea, feed the Siberian seagulls, super big!
-
🥳Travel tips:
1⃣️Dalian in winter is really cold because it is by the sea, especially the seaside wind is very strong, you must wear a hat, scarf, gloves, and mask! 2⃣️It is recommended to take the subway or taxi for transportation, and the taxi in Dalian is really not expensive.
It's a scene only found in comics, the stunning Lianjiao Bay and Tiger Beach in Dalian
🛶The Italian colorful European-style buildings at Dalian's Tiger Beach are the most beautiful photos on the internet.
The colorful houses are lined up across the bay, against a backdrop of rolling hills.
But it really tests your professional equipment and photography skills.
Walk forward 200 meters, the stairs at Lianjiao Bay really do produce a comic-like beauty.
·
‼️Real situation report ahead, take advice!
⚠️The colorful houses at Tiger Beach, if not under a big sun or a big filter, are not visibly colorful at all.
Because you're across a very wide bay, if you want to take photos of people and houses, you can only zoom in 5-6 times on your phone, which will blur the people, so you need to enhance the clarity in post-processing.
Without professional equipment, you might not be able to capture the texture, although I used a phone, I also did a lot of post-processing.
The better shooting location I found is at the stairs heading to Lianjiao Bay.
You can take photos of people sitting with the houses across the bay as a background, and more importantly, you won't capture other people in the shot! (In reality, there are a lot of people on both sides.)
·
☁️The sky stairs at Lianjiao Bay are super beautiful, but you need to queue up.
There are two layers of stairs suitable for taking pictures, and you need to queue for both. I went on a Saturday.
I queued for 20 minutes.
Because you can only sit on that corner, you must pay attention to safety, and if you're afraid of heights, please give up.
·
🏠Location: Lianjiao Bay parking lot (where you can take all the photos in this note)
Real shots of Lianjiao Bay! Recommended to everyone who comes to Dalian
Lianjiao Bay is opposite the Fisherman's Wharf, and from Lianjiao Bay you can see the colorful European-style buildings of the Fisherman's Wharf. The houses are built layer by layer along the mountain, with colorful exteriors like a palette. Seagulls fly over the azure sea, and fishing boats returning from the sea pass by slowly. The splendid scene is captivating, making it hard to take your eyes off and resist pressing the shutter continuously.
Walking from the parking lot towards the sea, you will first pass a leisure park, and if you continue forward, there will be a small path that leads to the seaside embankment.
As you walk, you can see the lighthouse of the Fisherman's Wharf. Soon after, you will see the embankment that looks like a cake. The grey shore and the azure sea give a feeling of beauty and solitude. Along the way, you'll also encounter many people fishing, wondering about their catch of the day. At the end of the road is the glittering bay, like a mountain opening its arms to embrace the sea.
On the way back, just at sunset, the colorful houses on the opposite shore are draped in a layer of warm orange gauze. The beautiful scenery always feels healing.
