Daning River Ancient Plank Road Relic Site

＂ Daninghe Ancient Plank Road Site ＂ is located on the cliff wall on the west bank of Longmen Gorge, Wushan Xiaoxiao Gorge, Chongqing, about 15 meters away from the river, and there are countless neat and square stone holes in turn. The holes are interlaced into inverted characters. The upper rows of two holes insert wooden stakes, paving wooden boards, and the lower hole insert wooden pillars. It forms a triangular support frame, thus forming a plank road for people and animals to walk. The total length of Ninghe plank road is about 400 kilometers, and its length is more than the famous Jiange plank road, which is rare in the relics of ancient plank road in China. According to historical records, the plank road was built in Qin and Han Dynasty, and was first erected with bamboo pipes to convey salt and brine.
