Monument
D33***27The memorial is a thoughtful offering to all people, which needs to be experienced. tread slowly through the cement blocks and pay attention to what feelings arise. From the way the ground goes up and down in waves to depict unsteadiness, to the stripping off individual identities that the blocks represent, they all tell different facets of the story. take your time here. We owe it to our present and future selves.

Exhibition
正义的力量Not far from Checkpoint Charlie, there is a place called "Topographie des Terrors" (Topographie des Terrors), located on the site of the Gestapo and SS headquarters in Nazi Germany. The original building was bombed by Allied forces. It is now an open-air museum, and the Berlin Wall passed through here. It is a relatively well-preserved section of the Berlin Wall. I particularly like their documentation center, but I watched it a bit hastily, mainly because I went a little later and kept seeing people turn off the lights to "catch guests" before leaving. In so many pictures, I pay more attention to the expressions of ordinary people in that era than to understand the cruelty of the Nazis. The passionate sentiment, the indifference to death, and the worship of totalitarianism are far and familiar to us. The trip to Berlin gave me a strong feeling that the Germans are indeed a reflection-oriented nation and dare to face up to the country's dark history. This "competition" with themselves is reflected in many subtleties. Berlin is not only a place with history, but also a place with stories, worth visiting again.
