We were there when we were in the middle of construction, which was a bit confusing, but didn't stop us from feeling its old and bustling. This street stands the famous minarets of Dublin, the O'Connell Monument, and the O'Connell Bridge across the street from the River Liffey.

Lovely wide boulevard running down to central Dublin. Good shopping off the side streets, or so the wife thought. :) The hotel staff advised me to watch my wallet, but as someone used to NYC it seemed very safe to me.
