Emeishan Photo

About Emeishan: Emeishan is one of Chinese Buddhism's Four Great Mountains. Samantabhadra is the patron bodhisattva of Emeishan. Emeishan has numerous temples with a long and storied history, completely suffusing the whole area with Buddhist aestheticism. The scenery deep in the mountains is exquisitely beautiful. Each of the four seasons of the year provides a distinct and different type of landscape. When you go to the Golden Peak Temple to watch the sunrise, take the opportunity to pay respects to the golden figure of Samantabhadra. This is the primary purpose for which many tourists come to Emeishan. No matter what your religious beliefs, the ambiance and environment are very interesting. While traveling deep in the mountains, you might come across roving bands of raucous monkeys. Whatever you do, do not approach or try to provoke them, as these monkeys are very fierce.
