    Elephant Trunk Hill

Its name was given to it because a portion of the mountain shape looks similar to an elephant drinking water. I've seen similar looking rocks in Australia and the UK.

Additional Information

Introduction

Fenghuang's Elephant Trunk Hill is situated on the eastern side of Tunliang Mountain in Fenghuang County, and its name is derived from the hill's striking resemblance to an elephant drinking water from its trunk. The two southeastern sides of Elephant Trunk Hill are covered in strange rocks, completely dissimilar in shape, and the overhanging cliffs are both steep and precipitous. On the northeastern side a waterfall hangs high among the hills, flying freely for several hundred meters to reach the ravine and flow together into a mighty torrent, galloping across Elephant Trunk Hill, flowing swiftly along to the river at Sangongqiao. Although Elephant Trunk Hill is not large, the trees are luxuriant, the surroundings are exquisite, and it is a great place to spend time on one's vacation.
