El Tomate de Aranjuez

Lovely food, traditional tapas with a haute cuisine touch. We arrived at our booking at 8pm to be told the kitchen wasn’t open till 8.30. No matter, we had a couple of beers in the adjacent bar. Unfortunately there was a very loud Englishman in there too, swearing to a mate. Really not great for the atmosphere-can’t blame the restaurant for this, but might have been nice to see the proprietor having a quiet word with him. Food really was good. Quantities good and a great variety. We noticed there were quite a few options that needed 24hrs notice, which cut down the options. Good wine list. We thought we ordered a 14€ bottle of Rioja, but got charged 28€ for, presumably a more expensive wine. Were we up sold? Not sure but I think there might have been a language problem ? The wine was good though!

The truth is that the experience was very positive, I don't give you the maximum score in all paragraphs because, for my sake, you were got the hand with salt in the cock.

We were in Aranjuez for 1 night and were looking for a restaurant. The choice came to El Tomate, also because there are few restaurants open on Sunday. But we were surprised!! Very pleasant and pleasant enthusiasts and super friendly staff! Delightful food, and great wine choice, in short a recommender!!!!

The hotel was very good, but it seemed very expensive. That makes the moment uncomfortable. Otherwise everything is okay.
