I like this place.A note to the pastry chef...please put less biscuit base on the banana caramel slice you do. OR make the base with butter like a proper shortbread. The biscuit THIS time was too much. The last 2 times it was spot on. A spoon of creme chantilly would finish it off perfectly. It was Thursday night at 7pm...and FULL.That tells you a story on its own.The young girls on the restaurant staff team were excellent, esp ours. She read our table, looked at our faces, hence the service was excemplenary.Weldone. 👍

Its a really nice place, cosy and intimate in places. Quite dim lighting but I like that...Great service.Would have been an excellent on the food if the sprouts werent over cooked and luke warm. The turkey was excellent though. I dont know, somehow lacked great presentation skills? Now the sweets, different chef on there!Absolutely Fab...taste, texture, presentation and value for money as the quality was top dollar! 3 times now, every time the sweet is top dollar! Can the mains chef marry the patisserie chef?
Sunday night, all the roast meat had gone! But we were alerted to this on arriving and still decided to stop. I did ask if there might be a freebie in it for us, as a result of having no roasts. But it fell on deaf ears but a smiling face. ????We opted for a quiet area so that we could hear ourselves talk and it was a little on the cool side. Warmth in numbers, sprung to mind...but it was ok anyhow as eating warms you up.The whole meal would have been given an excellent rating had there been roasts available, and my dessert spoon would not have had to have its handle cleaned before use...it had dropped onto the chocolate sauce surrounding my amazing piece of banana toffee pie.Far better if the cutlery is served separately...a lot more classy?Nobody came to ask us if it was ok, which I dont mind as I would find someone if it wasnt, but my hubby likes to be asked. ???? . Next time we go, I will ask for the sauce not to go on my beautifully crisp seabass skin. The sauce for the seabass and also the calamari starter were lacking in flavour which was a bit unexpected, but a Chef might say a powerful sauce would overpower the fish? ????The eton mess was sadly lacking fresh fruit which is what my hubby craved for. But to be honest, our fault for going 7pm on a Sunday after a very busy day, ofcourse one is going to run out. Of commodoties. Will try early Sunday lunch one day soon and write another review.Never known a better, more attentive set of staff, just a shame about the dessert spoon. ????????
