Salt House

I checked out a Spanish-style restaurant that was listed in the local Ctrip Food Forest restaurant list. Their dishes were really good, especially the smoked ham, which really amazed me.

Cairns is a resort city like Hainan. The climate is 22-28 degrees all year round. The hottest time is 30 degrees, which lasts for 2 weeks. Maybe because it is the weekend, you need to pay $10 per person to enter the Salt House. After paying, you will be given a tape. Then go to buy a ticket for food. I bought $20 at first, and after a round, I bought another $20 ticket. The dumplings here are too expensive. Almost all of them cost $8/4. (I'd better go back to China to eat. You can eat a lot for 40 yuan.) Ordered a squid, a barbecue, and a beer (a free one). Just sat near the beach and stared blankly. On weekends, foreign friends seem to like to meet friends here. I saw friends coming and going on every table, and everyone was dressed up. When you enter the door, you can get a map of the restaurant. You can check the map before going to where you want to go. It's not bad.

The business was really good on Saturday night, the place was packed, luckily we had booked in advance. It was basically all outdoor seats, including the bar, and next door was the sea pier, with many yachts parked, and the scenery was great. We ordered a few cooked bacon oysters, which were delicious. The main dishes were steak, pork chop, and salmon, all of which were very generous in portion and tasted ordinary, nothing special. The service was very attentive, always coming to pour water and ask if it was delicious, etc. The waiters were all pretty good. I personally don't like wood-grilled steaks, which have a strong bitter taste.
