Great food if somewhat confusing service. We think they did not put our order through as the tables around us, who ordered after us, were served well before us! However, once we were served it was all delicious and worth the wait. The cassoulet was very good indeed as was the bouquet of vegetables entrée with tapenade. Alas, we had no room for a dessert which looked very tempting on adjacent tables, especially the Valrhona chocolate finger. An apology for the very delayed service would have been nice but we didn’t complain as the waiter and waitress were very pleasant.

Beautiful restaurant in the cité in Carcassonne. The ambience and food were both excellent. There was also an extensive drinks list including cocktails and wine, with the wine list including a lot of great wines from the locality.
Ambiance was spoiled by paper posters stuck on the windows overlooking the terrace. It is not clear why, for example, the restaurant would be promoting a dinosaur museum in Esperaza, a village with no direct connection to La Cité de Carcassonne. Strange and unfortunate. Otherwise a first class evening (on our sixth visit).
A really nice place anong the many restaurants in this charming tourist trap. I have dreamt about the Cassoulet since the last time I visited. It was just as good and savory today.
Really enjoyed our meal at Comte Roger. The food was surprisingly light and not overly heavy. It was presented well. The wine we chose was also delicious. The restaurant was full on a Friday night, a mix of tourists and locals. People seemed to go for the cassoulet. I don't eat meat but had plenty of fish options to choose from. I think there were a couple of vegetarian options too. Service was just right.
