What travelers say:
The restaurant is very distinctive, located in the 16th century former Justice Department prison, this square prison is divided into two floors, separating male and female prisoners, the restaurant's iron windows, iron chairs are a prison atmosphere. Tomato soup according to my view should be tomato-painted bread, this soup water less dry goods, a large bowl of tomato stirring three pieces of bread, soup does not pour too much, the small amount of this soup to drink and end. It is worth mentioning that the two main dishes are very good, especially the rice with the soup, the rice soaked in the soup is very delicious.

This restaurant is very unique, located in the former Ministry of Justice Prison in the 16th century. This square prison is divided into two floors, separating male and female prisoners. The iron windows and iron chairs in the restaurant are full of prison atmosphere. In my opinion, tomato soup should be tomato bread. This soup has less water and more dry goods. A large bowl is filled with tomatoes and three large pieces of bread. The soup is not too much, and the soup is finished after a small appetite. It is worth mentioning that the two main dishes ordered are very good, especially the rice. The rice soaked in the soup is extremely delicious.
The food and ambiance were fantastic. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the wines and the food they were serving. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will be back there again!
This is such a cute restaurant. The food is excellent. We were here 10 years ago when we were last in Portugal. We wanted to repeat our visit to this restaurant especially to see Alice again. She is the chef and the loveliest lady you can meet. She is so warm and friendly and an excellent chef. I had the fish soup as a starter which was delicious. The broth was so fragrant with a nice mixture of herbs and spices. I then had their grilled black pork which also was excellent. I would highly recommend you visit this restaurant if you are anywhere in the area. It is a short drive from Evora and worth the trip. Joao was our server and he was also friendly and very helpful. His service was excellent. This restaurant is in the old jail so also an interesting historic place to visit. Don’t miss out you won’t be disappointed. Make sure you meet Alice she is delightful.
It has been amazing! Arrived there a few minutes in advance, we took the opportunity to drink a great spritz Aperol. Back to dinner, the local food was superb! We paid 50€ but it was worth it.
Very friendly staff, the food is so good! I really enjoy this wonderful gastronomic experience! The location of the restaurant offers a the most beautiful view!
