We had a fabulous time in this beautifully romantic setting. The staff were warm and very welcoming, food and service was outstanding, and we had a great conversation about France with Monsieur Matthias (hotel boss) and a lovely gentleman. Overall, it was a wholesome experience, and I would definitely recommend.

The food was stunning - the best in Gourdon by far! The dining room was spotlessly clean and really elegant. Fabulous and very fairly-priced wine list. Service was impeccable. Already looking forward to my next visit, and the next, and the next!
The environment was beautiful. The food was good and beautifully presented. The single waiter explained every course and was clearly a well-trained and highly experienced waiter who ensured we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, because he was the lone waiter, the time between each course was lengthy. It was an hour before we were served our starter. All in all we were at our table for over three hours. We don't mind waiting for freshly cooked food, but an hour's wait for our starter was too long.
Service was very slow. There was only one person front of house. We assume he was the owner. He was very welcoming and polite, however, our reservation was for 19h30, but, apart from an appetiser, we had to wait an hour for the first course. The main course was absolutely delicious, black pork with a cepe and cream sauce, layered , buttery potatoes and broccoli. My dessert was very disappointing - elaborate but tasteless. It is very difficult to describe the ambiance. It was a very well-appointed dining room, with classic table setting, well decorated and including tasteful accessories, artwork and other decorative elements. It was perhaps too quiet with only eleven diners and with no background music. An interesting feature was the use of technology to order the meals. We were each given a device, the size of a cellphone with which to choose our food and drink. We have decided not to revisit this restaurant, mainly because of the waiting time. more staff required.
We had a perfect dinner in this hotel, I don't just put 10 because a couple who was unpleasant has spoiled us a little this time. The food was good , fresh and copyful.
