The food was exceptional, especially the main courses. I opted for chicken and my wife had sea bream - both were delicious and so well cooked. Garlic potatoes as a side dish is a must. All the staff were very attentive and professional

It’s a lovely rural restaurant with a nice menu, well worth making a journey to it (I travelled from Kent but I was headed to Maldon). Will visit again when I’m next in the area.
We had a lovely meal for my wife’s birthday. Good food from start to finish. Our only concern was the wine. We asked for advice on what we were eating but although the wine was expensive , the wine was not a good taste and tasted like a cheap wine. Very disappointed.
First time for us here and it has been great: Sunday lunch, sunny and 20 degrees, the perfect conditions to eat on the terrace. Traditional English food , very well prepared. Good variety of Italian and French wine, at the glass as well, that is what we took. Only improbable aspect, the service can be faster: they were full, so I guess they were at the limit. Still good. We will go back, no doubt.
The food and service were excellent, the only small issue is the noise. Like a lot of restaurants now, there are no soft furnishing/carpets to dampen the noise in a large open space, and it makes it difficult for conversation.
